Two New Sites

I’ve recently completed two sites, first of all Gender Agenda, a site for discussion and creative writing for feminists at Cambridge University. Secondly a ticket sales site for the forthcoming Secret Porter’s Ball at the Cambridge Union.

CUAI Site

A quick site made in a couple of days, with a few extra tweaks later on. I had to make a site before the start of term for Cambridge University Amnesty International (CUAI), i.e. in about a week. I put this site together using wordpress, with extra plugins for the calendar, which I customized quite heavily, and advanced user control, to allow college reps to access specific pages on the site to keep them updated. Within a week the site is fully functional, and nearly all the content needed for the start of term is there!

Ormeo: Web-Wide Comments System

Ormeo

Ormeo is a web-wide comments system. It can be installed on a single site so that anyone can comment, or it can be installed on your computer, allowing you to comment on anything on the web.

Ormeo started off as an idea, then grew into an experiment in JQuery, and finished off as a fully functional web-app, complete with Firefox Extension. Ormeo is the system used on this site for comments, instead of wordpress’s own system. This allows visitors to this site to use their Ormeo login for every site they visit!

Guildford Lido

Friends of Guildford Lido

This site was made for the new Friends of Guildford Lido (FOGL) group, so that they can easily contact members, provide news about the Lido, and gather support from new visitors to the site. Members of FOGL have access to special content, and can discuss articles with other members on the site.

It uses WordPress, with a custom theme, and plugins to support twitter and facebook integration and event planning, and has a custom hand-made user system.

I created this site for Sidney Sussex Boat Club Cambridge. It is entirely custom built in PHP. It features a member’s area, with a multi-tiered user system, a blog, gallery and race-report system, as well as booking systems for ergs and dinners. Ownership of the site has now passed on, but the structure of the site has not changed since I created it.

Cambridge Green Week '07

Cambridge Green Week ’07 asked me to design this site in flash, to provide information on the activities and events happening over the week, and as a place for people to get involved and sign up. This site is now offline, but I have been asked to do another site for Green Week ’09, so keep an eye out for that!
